Bolton Abbey and Strid Walk June 2007
These pictures are from a walk organised by Steve for a group of clients. The walk started and finished at Bolton Abbey and was approximately 16 miles long. It took around 6 hours to complete. The weather held up and everyone enjoyed their day.
The route followed the meadering river Wharfe up the dale through Appletreewick and over to Skyreholme. Then it climbed to the highest point at Simon’s Seat, which on a clear day gives fantastic views of Wharfedale in both directions.

From there, the walk then descended over the grouse moors, through the Valley of Desolation, past the Cavendish cafe and back to the Abbey. The party finished with a light picnic together.
