Race Calendar 2008 - North of England and Beyond
Written by admin, April 18th, 2008

Here are races in Northern England and beyond for the rest of the year. We’ve omitted all those races that we found to be full, cancelled or closed to new entries (including the Bradford 10K, Jane Tomlinson 10K “Run for All” in Leeds and some Race for Life venues/times). All of the local races are within 150 miles of Yorkshire with some of the larger races from further away also listed. We will keep updating this page.

Steve Haywood is able to assist with training for every distance and will often know organisers and routes if you wish to prepare for a particular race. Click here to contact Steve.

Picos de Europa Spain Walk
Written by admin, January 15th, 2008

Here are some pictures from a walking holiday involving Steve and some friends in the Picos de Europa of Spain. Temperatures can get as high as 38 degrees celsius yet there is still snow on the highest peaks. Walks in this area are measured in terms of hours rather than distance because the gradients are so steep. There is little solace for those who lose their way as missing people are seldom found -owing to the services of the large circling vultures!
