Core Stability is the effective development and maintenance of the trunk muscles and shoulder girdle which help stabilise the spine allowing limbs to move freely.

Using Your Core Muscles

To engage your core muscles, tense your trunk muscles slightly. Your trunk muscles are those around the lower back, stomach and sides. As a guide, you must still be able to breathe easily while exercising.
