Exercises in the Bedroom – Calf Raises

Calf Raise

Steady yourself with your left hand against a wall or similar. Rise up as high as possible on the ball of your feet. Hold the fully raised position for a count of two, then slowly lower your heels back to the floor.

Variations

If you have a step available, single leg calf raises are a more strenuous variation on the calf raise. Make sure you are holding onto something with your right hand. Place the ball of your left foot on the step. Keeping your left leg straight, raise up onto your toes and then slowly lower your ankle until it is below the level of the step. Do twelve repetitions to each leg.
