Walking a Race

3-4 miles an hour is a good pace and should include gentle inclines and declines. In the first week, walk for 10 – 15 minutes, building up to 20 minutes, two or three times per week. Eventually, you are aiming for 40 minutes three or four times a week – although this could take you several months to achieve.
