Healthy Recipes – Easy Fish Pie
This is the straightforward way to a healthy Winter dish. Fish contains healthy fats that are linked to improved memory and a lower risk of dementia. It is also a low-fat way of getting those all important proteins which help your muscles repair after the strain of exercise.
Ingredients
- 4 portions of boil in the bag fish with sauce
- Potatoes
- Splash of milk
Method
- Preheat the oven to gas mark 7 or around 180-200°C.
- Peel plenty of potatoes, cut into pieces and boil for 20 minutes until soft.
- Meanwhile, boil or microwave the fish in the bag as directed on the packet.
- Drain the potatoes then mash them. Add a splash of milk.
- Pour the cooked fish into and ovenproof dish and cover with the mash.
- Fork the mash to create ridges.
- Put the pie into the oven 35-40 minutes until the topping has browned slightly.
- Serve with vegetables.
Optional Extras
You can add all sorts of things into the recipe without any difficulty. Peeled and cooked prawns go great in the mixutre, as do peas. You can add a bit of pazzaz to the topping with cheese or leeks. Change the mash around with parsnips.
