How versatile can a ball be ?
Of all the weird and sometimes not so wonderful inventions that find their way into the gym and home environment the humble ball stands out unchallenged as the most versatile and useful piece of kit.
It has various trademarks but is probably best known as the Fitball, but can also be called Gymball and Swissball amongst others. It arrives flat has has to be pumped up to the required diameter, the hand pump and a measuring band should arrive with the ball, however, if you are to be a regular user it is best to buy a footpump.
The balls are in 3 sizes depending on your height, 55 cm, 65 cm and 75 cm, check the height bands but for most of us the 65 cm is the one we need. They are guaranteed not to burst under normal usage with a load capacity of between 200 - 250 kgs.
The range of exercises that can be carried out is superb, from beginners sitting on the ball while watching TV to more advanced work such as kneeling on the ball. The whole body can be worked particularly your core which is basically your torso. For more information on your core stability check the web site or for ball exercises download the e books “TV and Beans ” which is for beginners or “Lounge About Workout” which has some more advanced ball exercises. Enjoy
