- Starting and finishing on the Woodbank Stadium track, the home of Stockport Harriers. This testing race is run on the flat tarmaced paths within Woodbank Park and the hilly tarmaced paths of neighbouring Vernon Park over three laps.

- Wednesday 2 July: 7:30pm TYNEDALE 10K
- Held each July, mid week, this fast, flat scenic route is run on minor roads and tracks starting in Ovington and finishing in Ovingham, via Wylam, Low Prudhoe and Tyne Riverside Countryside Park.
- A Pie and Peas Supper is available after the race and is included in the entry fee. There are also generous prizes in both senior and veteran categories as well as for teams.
- Postal entries are now closed but there will be entries available on the night at Ovingham Middle School.

- Wrose Carnival, Shipley, nr. Bradford An updated version of the traditional Carr Lane Run. This is a scenic trail race of approx. 5 miles culminating in a finish running up the notorious and infamous Carr Lane (a hill of approx .6 mile with a 1 in 6 gradient). Starts and finishes at the Wrose Carnival Ground, Bradford. Held in series with the “Baildon Carnival Canter” (12/7).

- Held every September, 2 weeks before the Great North Run, this race proves popular for final Great North preparations. This race is an undulating and scenic route on along minor rural roads, from Hexham to Ovingham.
- Prior to the race, transportation is available from the finish to the registration area and baggage transportation is avavailable from the registration area to the finish of the race.
- Free Jelly Teas, included in the race fee, are available to all runners at the finish. There are also generous prizes in both senior and veteran categories as well as for teams. An additional bonus subvention will be paid for new course records. Currently they are; Paul Cuskin 48:49 (1992) and Lynne Harding 56:39 (1992).

A simple healthy barbeque recipe of chicken and vegetables. Chicken provides low-fat protein and the vegetables can go towards making up your 5-a-day portions of fruit and vegetables - full of vitamins and nutrition essential for healthy living.
Smoothies are great before early morning runs - they get energy and fluids into your body quickly without causing indigestion or stitches on the run itself. These are also great refreshers after summer training because of the ice. Smoothies are a great source of antioxidants, fibre and vitamins.
It was a windy day at Sunnyside farm, affecting some PB attempts. However, as my first competitive race since returning to Britain, it was great to get back into the swing of things. The atmosphere at the start was great with cakes, cuppas and a barbeque for spectators.
