Top Tips for Relaxed Running

Here are two simple tips to help with running relaxed, even when pushing the pace along.

Keep you hands loose and relaxed, not flopping around but not clenched fists either. Once you screw your fingers into a ball it tenses up the rest of the body making your stride pattern shorter and generally tiring you out much quicker. Withyour hands relaxed it is virtually impossible to tense up, try it on your next run.

Keep you head up, don’t stare down at the ground. Dropping your head will put tension in your neck and shoulders, keep looking some 20-30 meters ahead. If you are a treadmill runner, stop staring at the console as this has the same effect as staring at the ground.
